Gwinnett County building permits — week of October 19–23, 2026
Dear Gwinnett,
Somebody is putting a swim school on Scenic Highway. Big Blue Swim School filed a $1,953,000 permit to fit out 1350 Scenic Highway in Snellville, and it is the biggest single filing of the week. It is interior finish work, so the building is already standing and this is what goes inside it.
Two other names you would know. A Chipotle at 3621 Centerville Highway in Snellville, $1,282,400. And an AutoZone at 1315 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road in Norcross, store number 10547, filed as a new complete building at $1,001,749. The county filed the second-biggest permit itself: $1,807,866 of interior alterations at the Sheriff's Office on University Parkway in Lawrenceville.
Forty-one new homes were permitted, and twenty-five of them are townhouses. Eleven of those sit in a row on Epperly Way in Tucker, in Chandler Run, every one filed by Taylor Morrison on the same Thursday, every one 2,340 heated square feet, every one $480,184. Stanley Martin filed eight more at Beacon at Old Peachtree in Lawrenceville, and Meritage six at Martin Springs. The sixteen detached houses were spread thin across the county. The largest by a distance is at 861 Woodvale Point in Suwanee, in River Club: 9,270 heated square feet, $1,777,944, built by Colonnade Enterprises.
One Duluth address accounts for sixteen of the week's permits on its own. The Avana Portico apartments at 2110 Preston Park Drive pulled exterior sheathing repair permits one building at a time, fifteen of them at $10,000 and one with no figure on it at all. Beyond that, a good share of the week was ordinary household repair: thirty-eight of the 169 permits were water heaters, furnaces, air conditioners and the like being swapped out, $355,330 between them. Every one of the 169 is in the record below, address by address, if you want to see what went in near you.
See you Friday,
