Gwinnett County building permits — week of August 31 – September 4, 2026

Dear Gwinnett,

Thirteen permits came out this week for a single address: 1855 Apogee Way in Lawrenceville, every one of them filed by Westplan Investors under the name Accent Sugarloaf. Three are apartment buildings, at $20.8M, $17.5M and $16.8M. Four more are two-unit buildings the filings call carriage garage splits, $864,898 each. The rest are smaller pieces of the same job: two garages, a handicap garage, a maintenance and pet spa building, a trash compactor enclosure, and a building to hold the pool equipment. A fourteenth permit under the same name, $74,500 for a parking lot, came out the same week at 1785 Cruse Road. The week's permits add up to $82.9M, and that one address is most of it.

Away from Apogee Way, the largest commercial filing is $768,175 to fit out Atlanta Oral & Facial Surgery at 1470 Lawrenceville Highway. Mason's Bagels is building out a space at 1165 Ballpark Lane for $466,465, and Mics Lounge & Karaoke is doing $460,000 of interior work on Venture Drive in Duluth. There is $300,000 at the Publix on Buford Drive, $279,248 for a Chase Bank on Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn, and $286,945 to redo the outside of the PPG building on Sugarloaf Parkway. A company called Ionna pulled a $200,000 permit for EV chargers on Indian Trail Lilburn Road in Norcross. Moonshiners Bar and Grill on Buford Drive is putting up a $108,000 canopy.

DRB Group filed seven new houses in Everson Pointe in Snellville, all seven of them on Pechaver Court, and three of the seven are the same house at $621,946. The most expensive house of the week is a Toll Brothers build at 1553 Origin Way in Ledgestone, $1,330,758 for 4,855 heated square feet. The biggest house is somewhere else entirely. It is 6,380 square feet at 795 Burton Road in Buford, $1,242,722, filed by Star Construction & Development with no subdivision on the paperwork at all, just the word acreage.

Forty-nine of this week's 169 permits were filed online, and 48 of those are somebody's air conditioner, furnace, heat pump or water heater. All 49 together come to under $500,000.
