Gwinnett County building permits — week of December 29 – January 2, 2025
Dear Gwinnett,
Lennar filed fourteen townhouses on a single street in Buford. All of them on Humdala Place, lots 131 through 144 of Towns at Ivy Creek, all inside the same week. Snellville got a smaller version of the same thing: six townhouses in a row on Parkway James Drive, every one of them filed by Liberty Communities.
The biggest single permit was a house. Just under 5,900 heated square feet on Haynes Circle in Snellville, $1.13M, and the filing doesn't name a contractor. After that it's a $924,000 house on Jones Phillips Road in Dacula and an $821,000 one over in Haverhill Estates.
Commercial was nearly empty. A Build-A-Bear Workshop is being remodeled at a Buford Drive address, a massage business in Duluth filed $95,000 of interior work, and AT&T pulled an electrical permit to put an antenna up on Shackleford Road in Norcross. That was the whole of it.
The rest was people replacing things that quit. Thirty-four of the week's 106 filings were a single plumbing or mechanical job and nothing more: a water heater, a furnace, an HVAC unit. Full list is below if you want to go through it yourself.
See you Friday,
Hank · Columnist, GwinnettPulseSomebody at 1966 Lebanon Road in Lawrenceville pulled two permits the same week. One to demolish the barn, one to demolish the house. $8,000 each.
