Gwinnett County building permits — week of January 5–9, 2026

Nike is fitting out a store on Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville. Sixteen thousand square feet of interior finish work, $780,000, filed under the name Nike Unite. It is the biggest commercial permit of the week by more than double.
The bigger thing by volume was five builders each filing a whole block of houses at once. Taylor Morrison took thirteen lots on Dreycott Lane in Lawrenceville, addresses 2710 through 2738, all on the same day. D.R. Horton filed eight in Independence out in Loganville, six of them side by side on Silver Moon Drive. Meritage filed seven at Parkside at Grayson, and Lennar filed twelve townhouses split between Rainwater Trace in Lawrenceville and Humdala Place in Buford.
Underneath that, the small stuff. A coffee shop called Chibo is going into a suite on Five Forks Trickum Road in Lilburn. Aloha Hawaiian BBQ is doing $72,000 of work on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, and a med spa further up Duluth Highway filed $115,400. A Chevron food mart in Loganville is adding storage. Two different vape shops filed the same week, one in Loganville and one on Satellite Boulevard.
