What's getting built in Gwinnett County

Gwinnett County building permits — week of January 19–23, 2026

Dear Gwinnett,

Somebody is putting up a 9,501 square foot house on Harmony Grove Road in Lilburn. It is filed on acreage rather than in any subdivision, at $1.59M. That is more than double the floor area of anything else that came in this week and nearly twice the price of the next permit down.

On the commercial side, an Ultra Express Carwash is going up on Gravel Springs Road in Buford. Grayson Self Storage filed for new construction on Grayson Highway at $130,536, and Tesla is putting EV chargers in at a Piedmont Court address in Doraville. That is most of it. Eight commercial filings all week.

The rest was builders working their subdivisions. Chafin Builders filed nine houses, six at Crofton Place in Snellville and three at Pinecrest Ridge in Dacula. Sterlingwood Homes filed five in a row on Thurcroft Lane in Lawrenceville, 1512 through 1520, every one of them about 1,900 square feet and right around $400,000. Meritage added three more at Parkside at Grayson.

108 permits in total, $18.2M. The full record is below.

See you Friday,

The Grayson Self Storage permit carries a case number from 2002. That is not a typo on my end. It is what the filing says.
