Gwinnett County building permits — week of August 3–7, 2026

Dear Gwinnett,

Forty permits landed on one address in Duluth on Wednesday. All forty are the Gas South District arena at 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy, all forty were pulled by Brasfield & Gorrie, and all forty were issued the same day. That is one job taking up forty of the 234 permits the county filed all week. Most of the work is interior finish, filed in repeating blocks: four permits at $1,277,100 apiece, eight at $429,000, three at $425,700. The single biggest is $4,947,800, filed as electrical work, and there is a new ticketing building in the pile at $83,220.

The strangest number in the record this week is a house. 1674 McConnell Rd in Grayson, a new single family home from Williams Icon Homes & Properties, filed at $8,510,076.45. That is more than the next eight houses in the county put together. It is 4,275 heated square feet, which makes it smaller than the four houses filed just below it, and none of those comes in above $1,247,408.61. I can only tell you what the record says.

Townhouses went up in two runs on Thursday. Stanley Martin Homes filed seven at Beacon at Old Peachtree in Lawrenceville, consecutive addresses from 2837 to 2849 Beacon Bend Xing, none of them larger than 2,012 heated square feet, $2,837,256.24 for the set. House Martins filed five more on Camilian Drive in Duluth, 2055 through 2095, at Sungold at Sugarloaf, $2,942,699.34 together.

The rest of the commercial work was scattered. A $2,838,850 fire repair at Cortland Duluth Apartments on Herrington Road. $2,536,998 of interior work at Head Elementary School on Hewatt Road in Lilburn. Vulcan Materials filed twice at 1707 Beaver Ruin Rd in Norcross, $1,827,180 for a tower and $1,255,520 for a conveyor. Red Point Construction has six permits running at 1066 New Hope Rd in Lawrenceville for a convenience store and retail shell, $1,347,810 across all six. And JD Sports is fitting out suite 528 at 5900 Sugarloaf Pkwy for $590,000. Eighty-eight of this week's 234 permits are the small online kind, a furnace or a panel or a gas line at somebody's house.
