Gwinnett County building permits — week of June 1–5, 2026

Dear Gwinnett,

The biggest permit of the week is a $1.75M building on Lawrenceville Highway, and the county does not really tell you what it is. The category it got filed under covers admin buildings, doctors offices and banks, all in one line. The project name is UI Auto. The same outfit pulled another $75,000 permit at that address for a concrete retaining wall, so whatever it is, it is going up behind a wall.

Chafin Builders had a busy week on one street. Sixteen permits at the Residences at University Parkway, every one of them on Alcovy Bend Way in Dacula, eight of those priced at $388,633 apiece. Lennar filed seventeen of its own: ten townhomes at Towns at Ivy Creek in Buford, on Humdala Place and Kuza Court, and seven houses at Apalachee Hills over in Bethlehem. The priciest house of the week was none of those. It is on Woodvale Point in Suwanee, $1.27M, 7,579 square feet of heated space.

The county filed $443,597 of mechanical work at its police station on Alcovy Road in Dacula, the east precinct. Out on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth, Hanover RS Construction pulled twelve separate permits at a single address, 1855, the largest of them $205,000. And two convenience stores turned up: a gas station and store on Jimmy Carter Boulevard in Norcross, and one on Loganville Highway where the same company filed both the $464,172 shell building and the $540,166 interior finish inside it.
