Gwinnett County building permits — week of September 14–18, 2026

Thirty-eight townhouse permits came in for a single street in Dacula. Every one of them is on Hopkins Shoal Drive, house numbers 1800 through 1874, every one filed by Clayton Properties Group under the name Residences at University Parkway. The lot numbers run from 12 to 61. There are three heated sizes in the filings, 1,317 square feet, 1,475 and 2,049, and five prices between $266,118.30 and $388,633.14, which is what it looks like when a builder repeats a handful of plans down a block. Dacula filed 43 permits all week. Thirty-eight of them were that one street.
The biggest permit of the week is at 2255 West Park Place in Stone Mountain. It is $13.5M, filed as interior finish work, and the project name on the filing is AMAZON ATL2 - PROJECT #173851 - PHASE 3. The contractor is Dematic Corp. The record does not say what phase three is. Second biggest is $7.5M of interior finish at 2670 Breckinridge Boulevard in Duluth, filed by HITT Contracting under the name Vintage Modern Inc, and that one does not say either.
Meritage Homes pulled 18 new house permits in Martin Springs in Lawrenceville, ten of them on Double Oak Trail alone, four on Misty Hollow Trail and three on Brookshade Trail. Out in Suwanee there is one house on its own: 748 Middle Fork Trail, in River Club, filed by Highland Custom Homes at $3.87M. That is a single-family home that cost more than every commercial permit in the county this week except two.
The smaller commercial filings are the ones that tell you what is opening. An Eggs Up Grill at 1032 Old Peachtree Road in Lawrenceville, $450,000. A Club Pilates on Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, $326,227. A place called WC Sourdough on Steve Reynolds Boulevard in Duluth, a Pho House on Satellite Boulevard, and a pet groomer on Braselton Highway. Forty-five of the week's permits were filed online, nearly all of them swapping out heating and cooling equipment or a water heater, plus two water line repairs and a sewer cleanout. 224 permits, $69.8M, and the whole list is below if you want to go looking for your own street.

Hank · Columnist, GwinnettPulseOle Mexican Foods filed two permits at 6485 Crescent Drive in Norcross, one for Building 1 and one for Building 2, each of them at exactly $566,283. The county files both under "Acc Bldg, Barn, Utility Bldg, Jail, Kennel," which narrows it down.
